Examples of our partnerships and how we work with our clients gives a good insight into how Broadreach manages its relationships.

Broadreach and Cisco DMS

Digital media is one of the most effective and compelling ways for companies to communicate with customers, employees, partners, or students about important news, training, and events. Digital media brings intimacy and immediacy to communications.

Broadreach provides a multifunctional role supporting the sale, implementation and ongoing management of Cisco Digital Media Systems (DMS) through professional services, pre sales advice and support, consulting, development, systems integration and managed service support.

Cisco DMS is an end-to-end solution that encompasses media creation, management, delivery and access/playback, efficiently distributing live and or on demand streaming video content. DMS extends digital media to new, compelling applications for real-time and on-demand communications. DMS is comprehensive, scaleable, centralised and integrated.

Some applications of DMS include extending training to remote broadcast and viewing of courses, broadcasting corporate communications, delivering current news and information through digital signs, and so on. DMS enables users to communicate quickly in real-time about new offerings and changing specials to customers on digital signs and through the web, or offer broadcasts of live promotional events.

Cisco DMS includes a digital media manager for managing and publishing digital media for digital signage and desktop video; a digital media player for handling display and playback of content; a video portal allowing desktop users to quickly browse, search, and view digital media interactively; and a digital media encoder supporting live and on-demand encoding in many formats. DMS quickly and easily handles digital media creation, management and access in various formats for multiple wired or wireless connected devices.

Through the application of our visual media knowhow and inherent understanding of visual media streaming, network costs and business workflows, Broadreach has developed an application server module that further leverages the inherent qualities and value of the Cisco DMS platform. Broadreach’s Karora Content Management Solution tightly integrates into a Cisco DMS deployment to provide additional functionality, streamline content creation workflow and add enhanced reporting and reliability. Karora schedules the targeted display of content and offers high quality enhancements that extend the power of the solution.

Features and benefits:

  • Asset management– multiple asset types are available for use, including video, images, Flash and PowerPoint. Videos that are incompatible with DMPs are automatically transcoded to a compatible format.
  • Deployment management– deployment times and bandwidth limits can be set per player for bandwidth sensitive installations.
  • Workflow approval – assets and schedules can be marked for approval before they appear on a screen. This allows users to add assets and create playlists but another user with publishing rights can assure the content before it is pushed to screens.
  • Dynamic messaging – localised messaging to individual or groups of players through custom xml data.
  • Ownership – players and assets can be ‘owned’ by users, only displaying those that are owned by them. This allows for a multi-tenant setup if deployed in a hosted environment.
